I have to say that I stole “Often imitated. Never replicated” from My Pillow’s Mike Lindell. I don’t have an opinion about My Pillow products, but I do like his marketing enough to steal pieces
What am I talking about? Let’s talk about warranties. Everyone’s favorite subject, right? I’ve been trying to reach you about your extended warranty. :p A lot of warranties in general are scams. I agree with that. Ours is not. In fact our warranty actually costs money out of our own pockets on the front end. We 100% believe in the product we install, but at the end of the day a piece of paper saying that the roof we just installed is insured by someone else is a reduced risk to me as a business owner. I may not make quite as much money this year, next year, or even the next 9 years because the warranties are supplemented by Up Armor’s overhead fund, but year 10, it will keep Up Armor in business when CertainTeed pays for your roof when it fails for some unforeseeable reason That is my goal. Here are the details:
Any roofer that you meet with or that approaches you about your roof will say that they offer a lifetime warranty. Know that this is industry standard, but “lifetime” is a half truth and it is a racket as described in line 1. I’ll let you decide if it is a lie or not. What they are offering is a lifetime warranty that is depreciated every year. Let me put it simply: in 10 years, it’s worth maybe $75 or a few hundred dollars and it covers only materials but not labor, debris removal, debris disposal, or labor to install the new shingles. These costs that are not covered are often over one half (or more) the price of a roof install even if the materials were not depreciated. Up Armor offers a warranty that covers all of it 100% with no depreciation for the first 10 years.
It is called Armor +. This is the warranty we put on our roofs. It covers material, labor, debris removal, debris disposal, and even roof algae if it were to appear within the first 10 years. It is not depreciated for the 1st 10 years and it covers up to 110 mph winds when 6 nails are used to install each shingle. Do you think we use 6 nails to install each shingle? You betcha. That’s a big deal in Oklahoma where weather events are matter of “when” rather than “if” at your property.
Oh by the way, if we discover that something was installed incorrectly, we have a written contract with our crew that they will correct any labor mistakes at their own expense.
Oh by the way, if the roof we installed caused damage to your property for any reason, we also carry insurance that covers up to a million dollars in property damage, five hundred thousand per occurence.
Let me put it this way: I almost hope that you call me with a defect in your roof that Up Armor installed because it will be covered by your warranty and we will have one more roof to work on this year.
I also want to mention that this warranty has been put to use. It isn’t just theoretical words that sound good. This past roofing season we filed a warranty claim through this process on the biggest project of the year, a roof we replaced for a church in Broken Arrow because the shingles turned out to be very slightly different shades in different spots when the sun was shining on it just right. I might also mention that our manager onsite detected this shingle defect and not any member of the church. We called out our own mistake on our own project, not the customer. The roof was 100% covered as described above and the church got brand new shingles under the warranty coverage. The proof is in the pudding.
Up Armor Roofing is the only roofing company in the world that offers the Armor + warranty on the roof they install. Do you want Armor + on your new roof?
